ClimeRock officially launched the C-ROCK project in early March 2026 with the establishment of a pilot field trial on a partner farm operated by an organic Salers cattle breeder. Initial soil characterization was carried out at three depths to establish baseline conditions.
Basalt sourced from a nearby quarry was then applied using a 3×3 experimental design with two application rates on a cereal crop grown on acidic soil. The site will be closely monitored throughout the duration of the project to assess soil carbon responses and ecosystem dynamics under enhanced rock weathering.
